How they met:
The story of how Cait and Connor met involves a threesome.
Cait and her best friend and college roommate Olivia (Maid of Honor) met Connor in Art History class at W&J College during the last semester of their senior year in spring of 2014. Cait didn’t get to know Connor much in the classroom because he was quiet, but after a few festive nights on campus, plenty of late-night Taco Bell, and an unforgettable night in Morgantown, WV, Cait and Olivia eventually saw Connor’s wild-side and they became fast friends – but that’s it, just friends.
When the semester was over, Connor invited Olivia and Cait to visit his family and friends in Oceanport, NJ for a classic ‘fun-filled agenda’ curated by Connor (his specialty) over Memorial Day weekend.
All it took was one night out in the Jersey Shore and meeting Connor’s incredible family and friends for Cait to realize that Connor was a keeper. After that night she started to see Connor as more than just a friend and they have been together ever since.
The proposal:
Cait and Connor’s friends from W&J made the trip to Connor’s hometown to celebrate the 4th of July where Connor proposed to Cait as a surprise at his friend’s house in Spring Lake, NJ on July 5, 2019. Everyone was in on the surprise but her. As she unknowingly opened the door to start the pregame, Connor was waiting there for her on one knee and asked: “Will you spend of rest of your life with me?” After the initial shock wore off, she said yes, and then the party continued at Bar A in Lake Como, NJ.
The wedding:
Although the wedding was originally planned for Fall of 2020, and was rescheduled twice due to COVID-19, it’s only fitting that Connor and Cait would ultimately exchange vows during Memorial Day weekend on May 27, 2022, the same weekend when it all began.
The day itself was perfection from start to finish. The best part of the event was getting to exchange vows with both sides of their families all together in one place. The reception at the Wintergarden was filled with non-stop dancing and an incredible Pittsburgh Cookie Table assembled by family and friends.
