How we met
Once upon a time, on a cold and damp November night, a small-town girl swiped right on her suburban prince and the rest is history. The couple spent their first date bonding over their love of food and cocktails at Condado in Lawrenceville. In true typical fashion, Courtney was 15 mins late and Nick was 15 mins early.
By week 6 of dating the couple rang in the New Year in New Orleans together and by month 3 went jet-setting off to the UK. Courtney, a seasoned traveler, had gifted Nick, a whiskey connoisseur, with a day trip to Scotland. While not sold on the idea of taking a train from London to Edinburgh, Nick was a good sport and went along anyway. A city that is rich in history and treasures they became immersed in the culture and views. Falling deeper in love with each other (and scotch), they left Scotland knowing one day they’d be back.
Our Engagement
On May 15, 2021, Nick whisked Courtney off to another castle, but this time closer to home and for one specific reason, to propose. The castle at Vinoski Winery had been a favorite date spot and worked magically into Nick’s plans. Resistant to travel to the suburbs that day Courtney was so glad she did. In the castle courtyard, Nick struggled to get out something he “had in his pocket” as Courtney laughed and held back tears of joy. Having thought through making the moment perfect, Nick had with him the first bottle of scotch they purchased in Edinburgh and had been saving for a special occasion. Joined by the parents of the couple the families cheered (Slàinte Mhath) as they opened the scotch and celebrated the unity of their families.
