Cory and Rachael

How We Met

Cory and Rachael met in the most peculiar of ways, in a dumpster on the South Side of Pittsburgh. It was 5:30 pm on a humid July afternoon in 2012, and Rachael had just arrived home after a day of work at her internship. She saw a man sifting through the garbage at a studio next door and asked him what he was looking for. It turned out to be her missing stardust. After Cory smiled at her and told her his story, she wanted to know more about him. She found out he was an amazing photographer. And that he had a heart of gold.

They went on many concert dates and road trips after that and fell hard in love. A new job moved them to Austin, Texas. Cory proposed to Rachael in Dripping Springs, Texas. He drove her to a park full of wildflowers and cactuses, sang the song “Just Outside of Austin (I think I fell in Love with you again)”, and surprised Rachael when he got down on one knee while she was posing for a photo.

The Wedding

Cory and Rachael had a magical wedding on October 2, 2021 at North Park Lodge. Their best friend Christen Russo became a minister and married them amongst close friends and family. Cory said his favorite moment was when he saw Rachael for the first time at the alter that day and the special moments they had together after walking down the aisle, holding hands, and beaming at one another. Rachael said her favorite moment was when they said their vows to one another and she became Mrs. Morton! And when musicians Roger Harvey and Anika Pyle played and sang their song as their first dance “Love is in the Little Things”.

Rachael  and Cory –

We were so honored to work with Kristi, her her style is unmatched and direction is clear. Capturing the days memories was the most important part of the day. We wanted the best and were so thankful that Kristi worked with us! She delivered fairytale moments that we will cherish forever and look at everyday.

We are so thankful for all of our partners who paid attention to every detail and helped with planning while we live in Austin! We are extremely thankful for our coordinator Jolina Vereb who made everything come together! The flowers were all locally sourced by Sarah Skrekas Colton of Crooked Crocus Collective. The rooms were dripping in dreamy colors that wowed our quests thanks to her artfully designed flowers. John Marshall Catering made delicious food and cocktails that the guests are still raving about weeks later. Our favorite bakery Patti’s Pasticceria provided the most amazing almond and raspberry cake as well as hundreds of cookies for our Pittsburgh cookie table.
