How they met

Lauren and Carl first met while working at Max & Erma’s Restaurant in Monroeville, PA. Lauren was a bartender, and Carl worked on the line and as a dishwasher. After a year of working together, their friendship sparked into something more in the Summer of 2013.
Because Carl was still going to school in Florida, the two of them decided to give a long-distance relationship a try. Though not always easy, Carl and Lauren persevered because of the love and companionship they share together.
In 2015 before Carl deployed overseas, Lauren decided she wanted to move to San Diego, CA where Carl would meet up with her following his deployment. After finishing his final year of school, Carl received a job offer in San Diego meaning the two could remain in sunny California.

The proposal

Carl proposed on May 12, 2017 at the Capitol Hill Club Aleethia Foundation Wounded Soldier dinner, an organization in which his family has supported for many years. Among friends and with the help of his brother, Eric, Carl gave a short speech to everyone at the event and ended with a little surprise that shocked everyone, especially Lauren.

The wedding day

Lauren said yes and the celebration and wedding planning began. Fast forward a year later where Lauren and Carl tied the knot in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Among family and friends, Carl and Lauren were married on May 26, 2018 at St. Barbara’s Parish in Harrison City, PA. The reception followed at the Embassy Suites in Downtown Pittsburgh.
The night was full of music, dancing, drinking, delicious food, and cookies…lots of cookies. It was certainly a night that Carl, Lauren, and their friends and family won’t forget anytime soon!
