How they met
Rebecca and Josh met twenty-two years ago in the height of the 1990s, which wasn’t that different from today. Tops were cropped and legs were tapered. Both of these teenagers were voted “Best Physique” by their peers, both enjoyed outings to Ohiopyle, and both loved listening to music. When Josh finally got the courage to approach Rebecca on a fateful spring day, their journey began. Their first official outing was a triple date to their high school prom at Nemacolin Woodlands, and well… the rest is actually history.
Wedding day
They took their time to get to their beautiful mountain wedding day, thus proving that the very best comes to those who have faith in each other and in God’s plan. They chose the Gospel reading for the wedding ceremony (John 15:9-12) to reflect their journey: “Remain in my love—because of our long-standing relationship.” They believe that this reading lent itself to a message of learning how to “remain” despite the young love feeling wearing off, despite each other’s idiosyncrasies, despite life’s many challenges, and despite society’s diminishing value for life-long marriage.
This lovely couple wanted to elope on the Amalfi Coast five years ago, but they didn’t want to exclude their dear family and friends from the occasion. Their May reception at Bittersweet Café in the Laurel Highlands was a reflection of their love for that romantic trip to Italy and for their home grown roots.
Looking back, Rebecca and Josh’s favorite memories from their wedding day include the ceremony, the Man of Honor (Rebecca’s brother Aaron) and Best Man (Josh’s twin brother Justin) speeches, and of course, spending the entire day with their family and friends.
