Chris and I were introduced to each other through our mutual friend at a Downtown Pittsburgh Champagne Bar, Perle. We became really great friends and spent almost every weekend together exploring the city, enjoying restaurants, and going out with our friends. About 6 months later, Chris finally agreed to go out on a “real” date with me and the rest is history! We have been together over 7 years and have the best time together!
We love traveling but in 2019 Chris was very adamant about going to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I didn’t think anything of it because I love traveling and am up for anything! We arrived on a Saturday and had a wonderful time exploring the resort, marina, and beaches. On Wednesday, Chris wanted to walk around the resort before our dinner reservation and show. We arrived at the gazebo that overlooks the water and watched the sunset – it was absolutely breathtaking! As I was taking in the sunset, I turned to my left and Chris got down on one knee. It was perfect and everything I dreamed of! We had a great rest of the trip and we can’t wait to go back to Cabo in 2023 to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. It will always be a special place to us!
After our engagement, I started looking at destination weddings since both of our families do not live in Pittsburgh. We wanted to celebrate our wedding in the South and wanted to be near a beach. I came across this historic island named Jekyll Island. We traveled to Jekyll Island, GA in the Fall of 2019 and fell in LOVE with the island, its history, and its culture. We both love history and this island has a lot of it! We have made several trips to the island since our initial visit and always find ourselves exploring and falling even more in love with the island. Our plan is to get married on the historic property, Jekyll Island Club Resort at Crane Cottage on May 21, 2022. We can’t wait to share this historic island with our close friends and family!
