Mike and I both grew up in Pittsburgh but met in 2010 at Penn State. Mike played football, and my older brother was also on the team. We were introduced at a Penn State bowl game in Florida. Our first date was at Pizzeria in State College, but we never ended up dating at the time. I was moving to Chicago the following year, and Mike had another year at Penn State. We met for dinner 8 years later in LA when Mike was living there coaching for UCLA football, and I was in town with friends because Penn State was in the Rose Bowl. We started officially dating that summer. I was on a Vegas trip with my girlfriends, and Mike surprised me and booked a last minute trip. He asked me to be his girlfriend in the classiest fashion over an all you can eat brunch at Caesar’s Palace. We’ve been long distance almost our entire relationship from LA to Chicago, Chicago to Knoxville and now Knoxville to Nashville, with Mike now coaching at the University of Tennessee. Our wedding was planned for July 4, 2020, but we had to postpone it to July 3, 2021. Our ceremony will be at St. Mary of the Mount on Mount Washington, and the reception is at PPG Wintergarden downtown. We are so excited to finally make this thing official and celebrate with friends and family in our hometown that we both love so much!
