How We Met:
Brian and I met at a Primanti’s Brother’s Restaurant while visiting Pennsylvania State University. I was telling my friends how I thought the boy a few tables next to us was kinda cute and when I looked up, that same cute boy winked at me. I immediately got up from the table and walked over to him and introduced myself. It turned out that Brian was doing a medical school training for a few months in the town of Indiana, Pennsylvania and I was finishing up my student teaching that semester at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, so we actually were living about 5 minutes away from one another at the time. We talked and laughed for a long time that day and Brian’s friends still make jokes about how he told them all that he found the girl he is going to marry because I knew more Adam Sandler movies quotes than he did (I still think that is an odd quality to look for in a girl LOL!)
The Proposal:
Ashley has spent the 4th of July weekend with her family in Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania for as long as she can remember. I knew how much Ashley loved it there and how much her family means to her so I thought that this would be the perfect time and place to propose. I had her brother play our song, “I Like Me Better When I’m With You” by Lauv, on the speakers of the boat. When I was trying to get her attention, she was talking to her best friend about how the song playing was our song. When I bent down on my knees (two knees because I was losing my balance on one knee because of how much the boat was rocking from the waves) she finally realized what I was doing and her jaw dropped wide open and she said “YES!” It was the best moment of my life!
The Wedding:
We will be getting married at the Omni William Penn in Pittsburgh, PA. We will have our ceremony in the Urban Room and the reception in the Grand Ballroom on October 10, 2020.
