How they met

We met at a Pitt football game in 2013. Jeff thought he would never see me again, but it ended up my best friend was friends with his friends so we ran into each other the next weekend. I always joked with my friends from that day forward, that he was going to be my husband, even though we barely knew each other, but I had this feeling. We saw each other frequently as we became part of the same group of friends. Timing did not work out for us romantically until I was in a senior in college and he had already graduated and moved back to the Philly area. We started dating after I graduated in 2015 and I decided to move back home, an hour away from Jeff. We moved to Philly together in 2016. We have been Pitt season ticket holders ever since I graduated and we go to almost every game. Jeff is working as an electrical engineer and I am a biochemist. We love to travel and Jeff loves to see and compare the electrical substations in the different states and countries we’ve visited.

The proposal

For Valentine’s Day in 2017, Jeff was going to take me to dinner in center city Philly. We had always talked about getting a picture together in front of City Hall. Jeff proposed and secretly hired a photographer and flew in my family from Pittsburgh, Texas, and Florida and they were all hiding across the street. We knew immediately we wanted to get married in Pittsburgh, where it had all began and the home of our beloved Pitt Panthers. 

The wedding day

My favorite memories of the wedding day were the ceremony, the limo, and singing/dancing to Sweet Caroline with all the Pitt alum at the reception. Jeff’s favorite moments were seeing me walk down the aisle, the cocktail hour, and dancing to Wagon Wheel and Sweet Caroline.
