How they met

From Latitia: As the two of us have always said, there is no such thing as a coincidence! This is especially true for our love story. We laugh now at how many times we had crossed paths over the years, including the 4 years we spent together on the intimate campus of Saint Francis University. Despite the many instances of us being in the same places at the same times, we hadn’t really talked to one another until we both ended up in Pittsburgh in 2015.   Jonathan had made the move to pursue exciting new job opportunities soon after he finished his MBA, and not long after that I began work on my PhD at Duquesne University.  I made the announcement on Facebook, which prompted him to offer his help with moving me into what he thought would be an apartment in the city.  Much to his surprise, I shared that I’d be commuting to campus.  I hadn’t heard much from him until weeks later when he made another attempt to meet up by asking me to dinner. Our schedules were so hectic at the time that we spent several weeks talking to one another before actually having the opportunity to go on that date.

The Proposal

But oh, was it worth the wait! We remember knowing from the moment we saw each other that this was going to be special.  We spent that night sharing so many laughs and smiles that it was hard to say goodbye.  It didn’t take long for us to make our relationship official, and after two exciting years of dating Jonathan asked me to marry him in a dream proposal in Myrtle Beach, SC on June 9, 2017. The site for the proposal was a special one: the resort where we spent our very first vacation together and officially knew that we’d be together forever.  After encouraging me to wear white, because we were finally going to get some pictures to hang in our new apartment, we headed to the back of the hotel where I was immediately blown away! Jonathan had secretly hired a proposal planner who had created the most perfect setting: candles and rose petals.  To make it even more special, he found an amazing photographer to capture the moment!

After saying “YES!”, the courtyard erupted into cheers and applause.  Jonathan smiled and shared that the guests were recruited to fill the courtyard so that I wouldn’t become suspicious.  We had a few moments alone together to share in the excitement and enjoy a bottle of our favorite SC wine before taking our ‘just-engaged’ photos.  We then rushed away to a pre-planned intimate dinner and spent the evening gushing over calling one another “fiancé”. The proposal couldn’t have been more perfect and the rest of our vacation felt like a dream!

The upcoming wedding

Our wedding date is December 29, 2018.  We’ll be having our ceremony at Saint Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church and the reception at Carnegie Music Hall. We’ve had so much fun planning together and are anxiously awaiting our big day!

The engagement session

We had an absolutely beautiful engagement session in downtown Pittsburgh.  We got so lucky the run came out during our session and I had a blast playing with it and shooting those two crazy in love people!  So many people commented that this session looks like a snapshot from famous HBO serious “SATC” 🙂 We didn’t plan for that, but I am happy it reminds people of one of my old time favorite show!  Those are some of my favorite from their shoot <3
